Our recent newsletter explored how the presence or absence of impregnation in solid lubricants can significantly influence the durability of our products. Today, our focus shifts to a comparative study involving solid lubricants from a competitor, aiming to unveil their impact on the longevity of oil-less bearings. |

1) Test Sample Specifications
|
|
|
The role of soild lubricants is crucial as they from a thin lubricating film by incorporating particles of solid lubricants and impregnating oil. Depending on product specifications and operating conditions, it is essential to select the type and size of solid lubricants and arrange them in the direction of motion. |
|
|
To evaluate the lubricants performance, we embedded soild lubricants from a competitor into the identical base metal, mirroring an SGO sample. |

2) Durability Test Equipment and Conditions
|
|
|
The durability test equipment and conditions for oil-less bearings are as follows. To minimize measurement variations, we conducted a total of four tests, with each test repeated twice under identical conditions. Additionally, an initial greasing was applied during the first cycle. |
|

3) Durability Test Examination Results
|

|
The durability comparison test results showed that both samples exhibited minimal differences in friction coefficient and friction temperature on the graph. However, the wear rate of the SGO lubricant-embedded sample on the shaft was lower than that of the one embedded with a competitor's solid lubricant, confirming superior durability. |
|
|
Even with the same base metal, we were able to observe the impact of lubricant performance on the lifespan of the product and its counterpart. 😊🔍🛠️ |
