Following the last letter about the main bronze materials for the oil-less bearings, today’s letter is about two bronze casting processes and their characteristics.
1) Sand Casting
Sand-Casting
Sand Cast Bushings
Sand casting is a casting process characterized by using sand as the mold material, which can be used for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is widely used in the mass production of industrial units such as automotive metal casting parts such as engine blocks, cylinder heads, crankshafts, etc.
2) Centrifugal Casting
Centrifugal casting is a process of manufacturing cylindrical parts using centrifugal force.
This type of metal casting uses a preheated rotating die into which molten metal is poured. Centrifugal force helps distribute molten metal within the die at high speed.
The molten metal flows in and is distributed in the mold at high speed to prevent poor fluidity and improve the texture.
Since high pressure is applied to the molten metal, casting tissue is dense and has no pores. In addition, the separation and removal of metal inclusions are performed quickly due to the difference in specific gravity.
Thank you very much for your interest in Manufacturing Indonesia 2022 from Nov 30 to Dec 03. It was fruitful for SGO to meet our customers from various industries in person and learn about their demands. SGO will try to have more chances to meet our customers in 2023, and it will start with two exhibitions Bauma CONEXPO INDIA and Plastic India 2023. See you then!
