- What is a Bimetal Slider Block? -
Today’s newsletter features the new product for November, the bimetal slider block. |
The bimetal slider block is a high-strength, durable product made by *overlay welding to combine low-carbon steel with tin bronze and aluminum bronze at a thickness of 1 to 1.5mm. |
It can replace brass at a lower cost, leading to savings, and is characterized by a self-lubricating structure with embedded graphite, which eliminates the need for maintenance. |
*Overlay welding: A welding method that adds new material to the surface of a metal to enhance wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or hardness, adding a protective or functional layer to the existing surface rather than connecting two components. |

< Product Surface with Dual-Metal Layer of Low-Carbon Steel Base > |
The bimetal slider block offers exceptional durability, making it suitable for long-term use in heavy equipment or machinery parts subjected to repeated impacts. Its dual-metal layer of low-carbon steel base combines a high-strength steel layer with a wear-resistant copper alloy layer, providing outstanding durability and helping to maintain structural stability even under high loads. |
Compared to standard copper alloy slide plates, this product offers significant material cost savings by being a more affordable alternative to brass. Its self-lubricating feature enables smooth sliding without the need for additional lubricants or grease. As a result, it eliminates the need for regular lubrication, reducing maintenance costs and saving labor time. |
③ Environmental Adaptability |
Utilizing low-carbon steel as the substrate minimizes the effects of humidity and dust, allowing for reliable use in challenging maintenance environments. It performs exceptionally well in contaminated workplaces without requiring additional protective measures, and its excellent impact resistance ensures that it can withstand significant loads without cracking or deforming. |

< Bimetal Slider Block Used Across Various Industries > |
Bimetal slider blocks are utilized across various fields, including heavy machinery, automotive, and industrial equipment. It is commonly applied in wear plates for press molds, sliding plates for plastic injection machines, and lathe slide rails, performing exceptionally well in environments with high vibration or friction. |
As such, the bimetal slider block is suitable for industrial equipment requiring high performance and is particularly advantageous for long-term use in environments where maintenance is challenging, or where high loads and frequent wear are expected. |
SGO plans to introduce a variety of products in the future.
The bimetal slider block introduced today is a custom-made product, so please inquire separately regarding pricing and delivery times. If you have any further questions about the product, please leave your inquiries using the button below. |
